Product

The Papondu team has been very meticulous when selecting the ingredients that can be part of the recipe of our products to guarantee a healthy and quality composition.

The beaten Papondu is made up of 7 ingredients: water, oil, salt, a faba bean flour for protein, a vegetable fibre to strengthen the cooking, a natural flavour for the taste and a carrot and pumpkin concentrate for the colour!

The "egg" format of Papondu is still a development: we hope to be able to unveil its list of ingredients very soon!

We use a natural flavour to provide a taste reminiscent of egg. And obviously you like this one, since during our launch event, 92.5% of the people (200 consumers, thank you for being so numerous 💛) who responded to our survey said that the taste of Papondu was satisfactory.

In the feedback we receive, we also have the one that makes us extremely happy: "It's even better than egg!"

Our first product, the beaten Papondu, allows you to replace the whole beaten egg (the mixture of white and yolk), so it is not possible to separate the white from the yolk with this product.

The good news is that we are continuing to work on the format that looks the same as the egg: this product will have a distinct white and yolk, and it will then be possible to separate them!

Beaten Papondu is available in two formats:

  • Doypack of 6 pucks (equivalent to 6 eggs): ideal for making burgers and dosing Papondu in recipes because 1 puck replaces 1 egg.
  • 1kg pouch (equivalent to 20 eggs): an economical format exclusive to catering professionals, as it is practical and easy to store.

Papondu Battéed inspires a myriad of sweet and savory delights!

From omelette to scrambled Papondu, from fresh pasta to pancakes, from muffins to cookies, and much more.

The answer is simple: avoid! The same goes for the oven. Our products are delicate and enjoy gentle defrosting. Although the safest method is to thaw them in the refrigerator, those in a hurry can opt for a double boiler.

Health

Our products are better! After all, there's something for everyone, because, compared to eggs, Papondu is:

Our products are Nutri-score A and have even been awarded the IdFood 2022 award in the Nutrition category.

Le Papondu products do not contain any allergens on the list of 14 reportable allergens. There is no soy, no gluten, no trace of egg (of course).

Our products, rich in natural fiber, offer a smoother and more pleasant digestion than that of traditional eggs. The light is green!

Environment

Plant-based alternatives to animal proteins are known for their lower environmental impact, and we have been instrumental in demonstrating this. Since the beginnings of Papondu, every step of our process has been meticulously thought out for the well-being of all, including our precious environment.

Thanks to our commitment and collaboration with our partner Sami.eco, we are proud to announce an impressive reduction of up to 79% in the carbon footprint compared to the traditional egg. This is a significant step towards a more sustainable future that respects our planet.

We attach great importance to preserving the quality of our products, which is why we use plastic packaging that protects them in the best possible way. However, this does not mean that we are sacrificing our environmental values. Our packaging is carefully chosen for its recyclability, contributing to the reduction of plastic waste and the preservation of our beautiful planet.
